Companies in the textile sector cannot ignore sustainability. Consumers and the media are scrutinising the environmental impact of this sector, and sustainability legislation is already well advanced. Textile is also one of the first industries to be affected by new European sustainability regulations.

In the coming years, companies in this sector will need to comply with stricter rules, such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). A key component of this regulation is the Digital Product Passport (DPP), which provides consumers with insights into the technical properties, sustainability, and other relevant characteristics of textile products.

Additionally, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) imposes requirements on sustainability reporting, which will eventually impact all companies within the EU.
