A lifecycle assessment (LCA) is an impact analysis of the exact environmental impact over all phases of the life cycle; raw materials, production, all transport, use and processing.

An LCA determines the environmental impact for various environmental impact categories; think of climate change, land and water use, toxicity and acidification. This gives you a complete insight into your environmental impact.

A carbon footprint is the sum of all greenhouse gas emissions, and only gives you insight into your carbon impact.

An LCA gives you, for every life cycle phase, exact insights into your environmental impact. You will find this impacts in a clear one-pager report. These insights give you concrete tools on how to reduce your environmental impact.

With the insights of the LCA, you can communicate your exact environmental impact to your stakeholders; investors, chain partners or customers. You know where the highest environmental impact occurs (the environmental hotspots) and what you can do to reduce your environmental impact.

And you get to know and understand your own product in a whole new way.

We make your LCA in two days; these don't necessarily have to be two days in a row.

On day 1 we come to your office/facility to define the exact scope and boundaries of the LCA and collect the needed data together.

On day 2, we will model the LCA-results and present them to you. This can be online or at your site.

We will provide you with a tailor-made data-sheet upfront, and you can start collecting it in advance. This way, on day 1 we can efficiently collect the readily available data and help you fill in the gaps for the data you could not collect.

Data that can be used to calculate the total environmental impact. This is data on the raw materials and materials; type, quantity and origin to calculate the impact of the transport.

Furthermore, data is needed on the production process; energy consumption, type of energy, efficiency/loss during production and transport.

This depends on your product. In some cases, you will find all the data within your own organisation. And in some cases, you will have to ask suppliers (of raw materials/semifinished products) for this.

That is no problem, we will find the needed environmental data to calculate your environmental impact by means of looking for proxy materials. Even when you work with new or unknown materials, or innovative applications, we will do our best to make the LCA as insightful as possible.
